As a teen journalist for The Future is Ms. series, I pitched and wrote a mid-length feature exploring the fight to enforce Title IX in campus sexual assault cases. I conducted in-depth interviews with the founder of Youth Against Sexual Violence and victims’ rights attorney Laura L. Dunn, bringing firsthand perspectives to the story. Seeing the piece gain national attention and appear in Ms. Magazine’s 50th Anniversary print issue showed me the power of journalism to amplify voices, spark conversations, and drive change—an experience that continues to shape my passion for reporting stories that matter.
