Berkeley Social Sciences
As a communications writer for UC Berkeley’s Division of Social Sciences, I’ve developed and published over 25 feature stories spotlighting faculty research, alumni accomplishments, and departmental milestones—many featured in The Berkeleyan, reaching 65,000+ readers. From crafting headlines and designing engaging layouts to photographing events and building media outreach lists, I’ve learned how storytelling can meaningfully connect institutions with their communities. Through this work, I’ve discovered how storytelling can bridge people and ideas—and it’s inspired me to keep finding creative ways to engage audiences and celebrate community voices.
Communications & Editorial Writing
Through my role for UC Berkeley’s Division of Social Sciences, I produce 1–2 stories each week covering alumni achievements, faculty research, campus events, and program launches. I handle every stage of the editorial process, from interviewing sources to shaping narratives and publishing polished articles that highlight the impact of Berkeley’s social science community.
Visual Content
I attend and document campus events through photography and on-the-ground coverage, using visual storytelling to complement articles and social media posts. From program launches and graduation ceremonies to departmental performances, my work highlights the vibrancy and community of Berkeley’s Social Sciences division.
